- Paying $40 million US for the sole rights to use the Amiga technology in
- their set-top boxes is nothing if they want it for them and themselves
- only! This could be the return of Commodore Greed. Look at it this way,
- VISCorp could have stuck with a licence agreement, constantly giving
- money to Escom/AT and also see them licensing the technology out to other
- competitors.. now for $40 million they will not have to pay anymore to
- anyone and they don't have to license out the technology if they don't
- want to. If sales go good, they easily make back the $40 million and
- then reap in the profits themselves from that point on.
-
- What happens to the licenses AT already have signed to other people for
- the OS, motherboards and that secret company using the technology for
- sonograms? Will they still be upheld?

- Maybe. Mashihituzi (excuse the spelling) recently spent $300,000,000 for
- the exclusive licensing agreement of the 3DO technology for set-top
- boxes, while this only benefits 3DO money wise and possible new software
- development, it benefits the buying company moreso knowing that no one
- else can use the technology in set top boxes.

-
- True but I hope it goes through.. Escom will can AT otherwise.
